  1. Mastic Fire Department features its annual Christmas Tree Lighting with a visit from Santa Claus. The event kicks off on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. on Mastic Road and Poospatuck Lane. William Floyd students will perform and refreshments will be available. (Patch)
  2. The Town of Brookhaven has approved a $330 million budget for the following year. The new plan will raise taxes by two percent for homeowners in 2023. Small raises will be granted to elected officials and the town's union workers. Read the full story here. (Patch)
  3. Nearby News: A family from Setauket sought a liver donor match for their 8-month-old daughter who needs a transplant. Little Sadie is at the Mount Sinai Children’s Hospital in New York City.
