  1. Mastic-Moriches-Shirley Library is hosting a Sea Turtle Walk/Beach Monitoring at Cedar Beach on Saturday, Nov 19, at 10 a.m. The event will be led by one of the scientists of the Atlantic Marine Conservation. Attendees are asked to meet at Cedar Beach at 244 Harbor Beach Rd., Mt. Sinai. Register here. (Patch Events)
  2. A holiday parade will be held six miles away from Shirley! The Center Moriches Fire Department will start driving its festively decorated truck to light up Main Street, beginning at Montauk Highway and Lake Avenue and ending on Ocean Avenue on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. (Moriches Chamber of Commerce)
  3. The Shirley Trinity Baptist Church announced the distribution of 200 Thanksgiving meal baskets for those in need on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event organizers ask those interested in participating to call 631-399-1044 to reserve a basket pickup.   4. A man was arrested for stabbing his roommate in the chest over a loud music dispute. Police said Frank Liguori attacked the 31-year-old roommate because he played loud music at their residence on Merrick Road and Park Place. Liguori is facing assault charges. (LI News12)
