  1. Saturday morning was a special day for some Suffolk police officers. The first responders helped a Shirley resident deliver her baby on her living room floor. Police said they received a 911 call reporting the labor on Arpage Drive. Officer Connor Diemer and his work partners arrived to help Rebecca Reyes safely deliver her child.   2. Get ready for the Mastic Fire Department Annual Tree Lighting event on Friday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m.! Santa Claus will make an appearance. Refreshments will be served while the William Floyd High School Choir performs at the tree on Mastic Road and Poospatuck Lane. (Mastic Fire Department Via Social Media)
  3. Mastic-Moriches-Shirley Public Library hosts its "Red Planet Day" on Monday, Nov. 28. Families with kids in 7th grade are invited to get messy while exploring exciting facts about the Mars planet!   • Save the date for the Bellport Holiday Stroll event on Dec. 17. Shoppers on Main Street will have photo opportunities with Santa Claus from 5 to 8 p.m. (Patchogue Patch)
  • A new holiday attraction is now open! The Christmas House Long Island is at the Smith Haven Mall and expects to host over 100,000 visitors in the Christmas season. (LI News 12)
