Officers Rescue Woman From Vehicle Submerging In Frigid Bay Off Mastic Beach: Police
She was pulled from the vehicle just in time before it went under the water, Suffolk police say.
MASTIC BEACH, NY — A woman was pulled to safety from the frigid waters of Narrow Bay off Mastic Beach on Tuesday, Suffolk police said.
Her vehicle went into the water outside the Mastic Beach Yacht Club at around 10:44 a.m., and boaters in the marina called 911, according to police.
Two officers from the 7th Precinct in Shirley responded, and got on the boat, and were able to pull the woman to safety just as the car fully submerged at 10:50 a.m., police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, according to police.
The temperature in Mastic Beach on Tuesday morning was 39 degrees, according to Accuweather.com
