- Suffolk County Parks Department announced that the outer beach of the Smith Point County Park might be closed some mornings due to high tides. The beach closed on Friday morning and was reopened in the afternoon. (Shirley-Mastics Patch)
- A mural with unique positive messages is now displayed at William Floyd Learning Center. The school staff said the art is to inspire students to believe that they can achieve their goals if they put their minds to it. Click on the link to check the beautiful wall. (Patch)
- A teen was arrested Thursday morning after crashing a stolen car into the woods on Sunrise Highway. According to the police, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the high speed of 122 mph. The teen also had a stolen credit card that belonged to the car's owner. The suspect was taken to Patchogue Community Hospital after the crash. (Patch)
