- Police sought a man who robbed two smoke shops on the same day. The suspect's first stop was at the Nirvana Shop in North Patchogue. Twenty minutes later, he entered the Lucy Smoke Shop and Beer in Shirley and once again demanded cash from a clerk. Both crimes were committed at gunpoint. Take a look at a picture of the suspect. - There will be an informational session about the Smith Point Bridge project at the William Floyd High School Auditorium on Jan. 18. The forum begins at 7 p.m. Suffolk officials will talk about the project, which is expected to start in 2024. The school is at 240 Mastic Beach Road in Mastic Beach.
