- A family of four received a house in Shirley on Wednesday as part of the Habitat for Humanity Program. Zach and his wife have twin daughters and were struggling in a small apartment. The family now has room to grow and a backyard for the girls to make new memories. (Patch)
- The William Floyd High School library was set up as a "Book Bistro" with sweet treats served by librarians Kate Devenney and Stacy Redmond. Students had the opportunity to share their favorite literacies during the “book tasting.” (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
