Here are the top four stories today in Shirley-Mastic:
- The Supreme Court announced the decision of the Suffolk County Court to hold the teenager who is accused of a high profile shooting on a million dollar bail does not violate the constitution. Noah Green was arrested for possessing one of the guns used during the shooting outside Lee Zeldin's house in Shirley. (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
- Santa Claus will pay a special visit to the Longwood Estate in Ridge on Dec. 3. The event is hosted by the Town of Brookhaven and features sleigh rides, treats, refreshments and more.
Tickets are $5 per child. The event will start at 11 a.m. (Shirley-Mastic Patch) - A lynx caught in Central Islip now has a permanent home in Holtsville Ecologic Center. Leonardo De CATprio was first taken to Sweetbriar Center in Smithtown. If you would like to support Leo and other animals at the preserve, you can buy tickets for the Tree Lighting Event on Dec. 3. - The New York State Association of School Nurses awarded a nurse from Moriches Elementary School Nurse. She has been recognized for her dedication to the school district's health field. (Patch)

- The driver involved in a hit-and-run in Holbrook has been identified. The incident happened on Veterans Memorial Highway at Grundy Avenue early Sunday. A pedestrian was killed as a result of the crash. (Daily Voice)
- Mastic Fire Department features its annual Christmas Tree Lighting with a visit from Santa Claus. The event kicks off on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. on Mastic Road and Poospatuck Lane. William Floyd students will perform and refreshments will be available. (Patch)
- " Suffolk officials say the police department will be stepping up enforcement over the holidays, keeping a special eye on business districts, significant holy days and drunk driving throughout the holiday season." (Patch)
