  1. The 2022 Christmas Parade is on Sunday, Dec. 4. "A Gingerbread Christmas" is this year's theme! Suffolk Police Officer Timothy Thrane is leading the route. While on duty in November 2021, Thrane was seriously injured by a drunk driver. (Shirley Chamber of Commerce)

  3. Police are investigating a possible drowning in Great South Bay. Officials pulled a young male's body out of the water after receiving a 911 call that reported someone was "floating" in the area. The discovery was nearby the South of Fire Avenue at 2:40 p.m. Police and medical examiners are working to identify the person. (Smithtown Matters)
  4. Suffolk Police Department announced via social media that an incident is under investigation at the Smith Haven Mall. Police arrived at the scene after two people reported a possible armed male strolling in the mall on Nov. 29 at 12:12 p.m. No threats to public safety were identified. (Smithtown Patch)
