- Mastic Moriches Shirley Community Library invites bookworms to join the "Battle of the Books" program at the Mastic Recreation Center on Tuesday, June 21, at 3:30 p.m. The epic
competition will be extended to August when attendees compete against other libraries in Suffolk County. (MMSC Library) - William Floyd School District will host the Summer Music Enrichment Program in July. - Suffolk Police are investigating an incident in a parking lot of Montauk Highway in East Patchogue where a man was found injured. Officers responded to a 911 call to find the victim on the ground. The man was transported to a local hospital. Anyone with information about the incident can call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552. (Patchogue Patch)

- William Floyd School superintendent, Kevin M. Coster, said the school is taking safety precautions to protect the 9,000 students. An investment was made to expand the security forces, and students have discussed the theme to promote awareness of the issue.
