  3. Attorney Steven Bertolino, who represents Brian Laundrie's family, presented a motion to a judge in Florida to drop Gabby Petito's family lawsuit. According to Bertolino, the lawsuit is "frivolous" and there's no evidence that the Laundrie family knew that Brian Laundrie was going to commit the crime. (Patch)
  4. After Connecticut’s lobster industry closure 20 years ago, federal funding was approved to begin removing lobster traps left on the floor of the Long Island Sound. The traps are still killing marine life and the approval of $569,000 in federal grants will finance the plan to hire local fishermen to remove an initial 3,000 traps over two years. (Greater Port Jefferson)
  5. Nearby News: Bellport motorcyclist died after a collision. The accident happened last Saturday and claimed the life of Daniel Cardona, 51, who was traveling east on Horseblock Road on a 2002 Suzuki shortly before 10:30 p.m. when he collided with a 2007 Chrysler. Cardona was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
