1. Jesse Diaz, 30, from Shirley, pleaded guilty in June to raping and strangling a woman walking back home from a convenience store on Route 112 in Coram. The victim lost conciseness twice as Diaz physically assaulted her. She was taken to Stony Brook University to be treated for her injuries. (Patch)
