- Nearby News: A former Port Jefferson resident is facing charges after turning herself in for an elderly assault that resulted in death. Lauren Pazienza, 26, who lived on Old Homestead Road, is being charged with first-degree manslaughter after pushing an 87-year-old to the ground. The victim later died from her injuries. - Nonprofit Paws of War in Nesconset teamed up with an organization overseas to help refugees who fled from Ukraine to have essentials for their pets.
