  1. A man from Shirley was arrested in Centereach for illegal possession of a handgun. Suffolk police are offering $500 in cash as a reward for tips that leads to an illegal handgun in Suffolk communities. Call 1-800-220-TIPS (8477). All calls are anonymous. (SuffolkPD-Facebook)
  2. Have you recently been to the Friendly's at 940 Montauk Highway? The restaurant will host a fundraiser on Thursday, May 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. When you enjoy a meal or ice cream, the Mastic Civic Association receives a percentage of the sale. (Patch)
