Here are the top five stories in Shirley-Mastic today:

1. Suffolk police released the name of the woman who died after a van burst into flames in Coram earlier this month. Hameedei Saad, 41, of Mount Sinai, was unable to escape the burning vehicle on County Road 83. (Patch)
2. Two men have now been charged with a recent Coram murder. Branzel Bonner Jr., 25, of Shirley was found shot to death in the woods on Dec. 2. Marcus Reid, 23, of Riverhead, was arrested on Dec. 13 and Monique Brown, 28, also of Riverhead, was arrested on Tuesday. (Patch)
3. Police responded to a false alarm of gun shots fired on Granny Road in Gordon Heights on Tuesday. A day before, reports of shots at Smith Haven Mall were also found to be unfounded. (Patch)
4. The Midnight on Main St. street gathering that was scheduled for Friday, New Year's Eve, in Patchogue has been canceled, organizers announced Tuesday. (Greater Patchogue)
