- Mastic Beach has a Victorian three-bedroom home near the water on the market for $439,000. The house was built in 2006 and is located a walking distance of Osprey Park. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- Affordable outdoors adventures will be provided by the nonprofit "Experience Saltwater Long Island" on Smith Point Beach in Shirley. Educator Shawn Dillon will be renting kayaks starting at $40 and leading children's programs for a donation. (Greater Moriches)
- Nearby News: The Burlington Coat Factory building at 199 East Main St. in Patchogue is on the road to becoming an ambulatory surgical center. The property hasn't been sold yet, but the NYU Langone and the Long Island Community Hospital aim to use the location as one of its facilities. (LIA)

- West Meadow Beach is closed for swimming because bacteria in the water can cause gastrointestinal issues and infections in the eye and throat. Suffolk Healthy Department announced the closure would last until tests show the level of the bacteria decreases and become unharmful. - Hooray for returning the Barrens to Bay Summer Camp experience at the Wertheim Wildlife Refuge in Shirley! Save the date from June 27 through Aug. 12. The camp will offer a week of hiking and learning about the wildlife in our area. (Patch)
