Signs On Long Island Indian Reservation Land Say Public Will Pay Fee For Entry
At least two signs with the tribe's seal, say customers, "non-blood right members" will be charged a fee. The tribe declined to comment.

MASTIC, NY — Signs posted on the Unkechaug Indian Nation's Poospatuck Reservation say there are plans to charge a fee to non-tribal members entering the lands.
At least two signs have been posted with the statement, one inside the reservation near businesses, then another outside on Overlook Drive.
The signs, which contain the tribe's seal depicting a turtle, features the words, "Coming Soon," in bold red capital letters. The rest of the text states, "There will be a fee collected to enter the Poospatuck Reservation for all customers and non-blood right members."

The reservation has homes, a community center, church, graveyard, and powwow grounds used by residents.
There are also smoke shops and two gas stations that are frequented by non-reservation members.

The tribe's leadership declined comment on who or why the signs were erected.
