- Some residents oppose the plans to open a Starbucks drive-thru on Montauk Highway in Shirley. Councilman Dan Panico shared details of the project on his social media, which caused some to express their concerns about the chain coffee shop "killing" small businesses such as Tend Coffee, located across the street from the plaza. - Mastics & Shirley Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Inaugural Casino Night. The event is open to the public and is set for March. Food, fun and raffles will be offered. Tickets can be purchased at the CofC website. (Shirley-Mastic CofC)

- A new accusation against Rep. George Santos is being investigated. Santos is accused of stealing money from a GoFundMe campaign to help a veteran's dog.
