Sonic's Newest Drive-In Location Opens In Shirley
The fifth Sonic on Long Island opened for business on Saturday.
SHIRLEY, NY—Sonic's newest drive-in opened its doors in Shirley on Saturday.
The fifth location of the fast food chain is at 2 Revilo Ave., at the intersection with Montauk Highway.
Sonic is known for car-side food delivery via rollerskates as well as food beyond the typical burger and fries of fast food chains, like hot dogs, milkshakes and tater tots. Customers can also order via a standard drive-through window or a walk-up window.

The other Sonic locations on Long Island are in Nesconset, North Babylon, East Meadow and Valley Stream.
There are 3,547 Sonic restaurants across 46 states.

Lines were long in Shirley on opening weekend, with some residents sharing pictures of a drive-through line stretching around the building on social media.
