  4. Nearby News: Police arrested a man for threatening mass harm in the Cherokee Elementary School parking lot on Friday. The suspect arrived at school around 3 p.m. and yelled threats of violence in the building's direction. He was later identified at arrested at his residence. (Smithtown Matters)

  • A man died in a one-car crash near exit 61 on Long Island Expressway. The 37-year-old crashed into a divider. Sadly, the driver suffered a medical condition while driving and passed away on Saturday morning. (Newsday/Subscription Required)

  • The Town of Brookhaven's Youth Bureau accepts gently used coats, scarves, gloves, and hats donations. The Annual INTERFACE Coat Drive will be held through Feb. 10 to help those needing warm clothing items this winter.
