Suffolk Girl Scouts Expand Holiday Event To South Haven Park: Report

The annual light show will go on at Smith Point, but just down the highway there will be a holiday village, Newsday reported.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — The Suffolk County Girl Scouts' Holiday Light Show at Smith Point County Park will go on as planned this year, but with a twist, Newsday reported.

The annual drive-thru event has expanded to include a new component called "Enchanted Forest Holiday Village" just down the road at Southaven Park in Yaphank, starting in November, the outlet reported. It will include a walking path of displays that leads to an area to have dinner on picnic tables, make s’mores around a fire pit, and take photos with Santa — all surrounded by lighted trees, according to the outlet.

Girl Scouts Chief Executive Officer Tammy Severino told the outlet it will be "much more up close and personal.”
