Suffolk Man Charged In Stealing Spree At Several Stores: Police

Anthony Anzalone was charged with nine counts of petty larceny, police said.

SHIRLEY, NY — A Shirley man has been arrested for a stealing items from multiple stores over the past 10 days, Suffolk police said.

While investigating a theft that took place earlier on Wednesday at Famous Footwear on Montauk Highway in Shirley, Anthony Anzalone was observed by police approaching the store. He was arrested, police said.

Anzalone was also identified as the man who committed eight additional larcenies in the area, including another on Tuesday at the same Famous Footwear location, authorities said.

He also stole merchandise from:

  • Handy Pantry, 630 Mastic Rd, Mastic, on March 24
  • Aldi, 855 Montauk Hwy., Shirley, on March 23
  • Walgreens, 863 Montauk Hwy., Shirley, on March 23
  • 7-Eleven, 1236 Montauk Hwy., Mastic, on March 22
  • 7-Eleven, 210 Mastic Beach Rd., Mastic Beach, on March 22
  • Walmart, 901 Blvd. East, Yaphank, on March 19
  • Stop and Shop, 999 Montauk Hwy., Shirley, on March 18

Anzalone, 55, was charged with nine counts of petty larceny and will be arraigned at a later date, police said.
