  1. Many Long Islanders touched by Thomas Valva's story visited his grave during the holidays. Thomas was eight years old when he passed away. His father, ex-NYPD Officer Michael Valva was convicted for his death. (Patch)
  2. Long Island communities joined forces to help the family of the three teenagers who were killed in a car crash in Holtsville. One of the victims was a Mastic resident.   3. Another "Zombie House" has been demolished by Brookhaven Town. This time the property was located at 58 Bayville Avenue. The structure was considered unsafe. Many may not know, but all costs of demolition and clean up are the owner of the property's responsibility. (Patch)
