  1. Center Moriches Fire Department Holiday Parade Of Lights at Main Street is set for Saturday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. The parade starts on Main Street and goes towards Ocean Avenue. Santa will appear at the end of the train at the Center Moriches FD Tower Ladder. (Moriches Chamber of Commerce)

  4. NYPD Officer, Michael Valva, has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of his son Thomas Valva. Valva's lawyer, John LoTurco, said he would appeal the sentence because they claim the death was unintentional. Read the full coverage of this case here. (Patch)

  • A man had his throat slashed during a road rage incident on Ocean Avenue. Both cars were traveling on the LIE when they took exit 63. One of the drivers left his vehicle and tried to open the other's driver's door. One of the passengers attempted to stop the suspect from opening the door and had his throat slashed during the struggle. (Patch)
