1. A Community Tree Lighting Event on Dec. 9 at the King Kullen Shopping Center at 552 Montauk Hwy. in Center Moriches. The event starts at 7 p.m. So that you know, attendance is free. (Moriches Chamber of Commerce)
2. The next Art Club meeting at the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library is on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. Participants will draw, sketch and create at the Mastic Recreation Center. This is a drop-in program. (MMSCL)
3. Canadian retailer, Showcase, is now serving Long Islanders at its new location at Smith Haven Mall. The new spot has a variety of exclusive items, from gifts to candy and drinks, at the North Wing, across from Yankee Candle. (Patch)
