- There will be a hiking event at the Wertheim Wildlife Refuge in Shirley. For those who want to enjoy the outdoors in the neighborhood, save the date for Feb. 11 at noon. This is a free event organized by Jane Fasullo. Participants are asked to meet at 340 Smith Rd., Shirley. (Sierra Club)
- Mastics- Moriches-Shirley Community Library invites all to Get Crafty on Tuesdays from 4- 5 p.m. No registration is required to join Ms. Erica and make assorted crafts. All ages are welcome. Notice this event is held at the Mastic Beach Branch. (MMSCL)
- A family from Yaphank is suing social media platform Meta for allegedly being responsible for their daughter's depression and suicidal thoughts. The parents said Instagram made their daughter develop anxieties, self-harm, and social issues. Read the story here. (Greater Long Island)
