William Floyd Learning Center Mural Encourages Students

“You are Smart,” “You Belong,” “You are Unique,” are just some of the positive affirmations that students at the William Floyd Learning Center (WFLC) are greeted with each morning, thanks to a beautiful mural painted by WFLC parent Alyssa Curtin.

“This mural was the brainchild of our school psychologists Skandal Delince and Dr. Richard Kimmerling as a daily reminder to our scholars that they can achieve anything they put their minds to,” said Camelle Person, assistant principal, WFLC. “Having our students witness the process from beginning to end was such an enriching experience and the quotes serve as a daily dose of mirrored affirmations for the students and staff alike.”
