Woman Shot On Long Island On Thursday Night: Police

She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Suffolk police say. Detectives believe the home was targeted.

MASTIC BEACH, NY —A woman was injured in a shooting in Mastic Beach on Thursday night, Suffolk police said.

Officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired from the roadway into an occupied house, located on Woodside Road, at around 10:30 p.m., police said, adding that when they arrived, they
found a 28-year-old woman with a gunshot wound in the arm.

Detectives are investigating whether the shots were fired from a vehicle or if the shooter or shooters were on foot, a police spokesperson said.

No other houses were struck, according to police.
