Woman Struck In Shirley On Friday: Police

She was taken to NYU Langone - Suffolk Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

SHIRLEY, NY — A woman was struck and hurt in Shirley on Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

She was walking in the roadway on Pinetree Drive at Trafalgar Drive just before 10 a.m., when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Trafalgar Drive, police said, adding that she was taken to NYU Langone - Suffolk Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

It was one of several car crashes to take place over Easter weekend.

There was a two-vehicle crash in front of a home on Phyllis Drive in East Patchogue on Saturday at around 7:35 p.m., but no one was hurt, according to police.

In another crash, a car struck a pole at the intersection of Sunrise Highway Service Road between Phyllis and Washington drives in East Patchogue at around 8:27 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

Some of the crashes were deadly.

A motorcyclist died on Sunday after he lost control of his bike and it crashed in Stony Brook.

A person was struck and killed on Sunrise Highway on Saturday.

Another person died after their car was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in East Farmingdale on Friday.
