4, 5, 6 Trains Bypass Downtown After Man Struck By Train

SOHO, NY — A man was struck by a train in Soho bringing Downtown 6, 4 and 5 service to a standstill, according to FDNY and the MTA.

Emergency responders rushed to the Spring Street station at 1:13 p.m. on the 6 line where a man was struck by a south bound-train. The train rolled over the man who suffered "trauma" but remained conscious, a fire department spokesman said.

Medics dragged him back onto the station platform and are evaluating him for medical treatment. It is not immediately clear if he was pushed or fell onto the tracks, police said.

The incident caused 6, 4 and 5 trains to bypass stops between 14th Street-Union Square to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, the MTA said.

Some north bound-4 and 5 trains are also running local from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to 125 Street, while some south bound-5 trains are running on the 2 line from 149 Street-Grand Concourse to Nevins Street, according to the MTA.
