Outdoor Retailer Lands' End Opens Pop-Up Shop in SoHo

Lands' End, despite its Midwest, outdoorsy persona, is the latest to join the pop-up shop craze in ritzy SoHo.

SOHO, NY — Looking for some boots and a canvas tote to go with all the camping gear packed away in your microscopic New York City studio? Lands' End wants to keep you covered.

The Wisconsin-based outdoor clothing retailer just opened a temporary pop-up shop in SoHo at 580 Broadway between Prince and Houston streets on Sept. 8. It will be open until mid-February to capitalize on the entire holiday shopping season.

But this won't just be any Lands' End location. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the two-story store will have a "cashmere bar" and "men's haberdashery shop." You'll also be able to have leather items personally heat-stamped. So, maybe not so out-of-place in SoHo after all.

The shop will be located just two stores down from Armani Exchange and in the same building as Zara's new SoHo location.

Pop-up shops have become all the rage, especially in Lower Manhattan. Kanye West opened a pop-up shop in Tribeca last month, while Future opened a pop-up shop at 76 Wooster St., just a couple blocks from Lands' End's location, in late July.

It's actually the second time Lands' End has opened a pop-up shop in Manhattan, opening one on Fifth Avenue last year, but not until November, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Lands' End does have three stores in the New York City area, though none in Manhattan. They have city locations in East Flatbush, Brooklyn and Rego Park, Queens. They have a location in Jersey City, New Jersey as well.
