Sleeping Woman Has Purse Stolen in Canal Street Subway Station
A man who robbed a sleeping woman in the Canal and Lafayette subway stop later used he credit card to purchase MetroCards.

A woman who fell asleep in the Canal Street and Lafayette subway stop awoke to find her purse stolen, and the robber ringing up charges on her credit card.
The 26-year-old woman woke up at about 4:30 a.m. on July 23 and discovered her handbag had been stolen. Just an hour later, a security camera at the 110th Street and Lexington 6 train station caught a suspect purchasing MetroCards with the victim's credit card.
A photo of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, grey athletic shorts and white sneakers, is included.
