• Syracuse to begin killing deer in targeted neighborhoods next week (syracuse.com) — Solvay residents should know that federal sharpshooters will again be culling deer in several nearby communities, including Solvay, starting December 15 as part of a regional tick and deer management plan. Coordinated with Syracuse and Onondaga County, the program aims to cut car-deer crashes, protect green spaces, and reduce tick-borne illnesses, while donating processed venison to the Food Bank of Central New York.
