The Brewster Public Library will host a four session workshop for college-bound students on How to Write a College Application Essay on Thursday mornings, from 10:30 to 12 noon starting August 2 and ending August 23. The first workshop will focus on the elements of a quality easy and examine good and bad examples. In the second session, students will begin writing the actual essay. Making the essay come alive using sensory language, adding details, word choice and peer editing will be included the third session.Finally in the fourth session, each student will complete the course with a finished, ready- to- be sent, college application essay. The instructor, Judith Marano has a Masters in English from Pace University and has been an Adjunct Professor at Westchester Community College for 12 years. There is a $200 fee for this workshop. Participants should register either by calling the library at 845 279-6421 or in person at the library.
