Victim ID'd In Deadly Honda Civic, Moving Truck Collision
The Honda was rounding a curve when it crossed the centerline, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
TOWN OF SOUTHEAST, NY — Authorities have released the identity of the victim in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Putnam County.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says that it is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that took place on Tuesday, around 7:11 a.m., at Deans Corner Road and Turk Hill Road, in the Town of Southeast.
The collision involved a 2016 Honda Civic sedan and a commercial moving truck.

The driver of the Honda Civic, identified as 43-year-old Jaclyn L. Hamill, of New York, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the truck were not injured.
An initial investigation determined that the Honda Civic had been traveling south on Deans Corner Road, approaching Turk Hill Road, when, while negotiating a curve, the Honda crossed over the double yellow centerline into the northbound lane and struck the oncoming truck.

The Sheriff's Office says that the investigation into the exact cause of the collision is ongoing.
Deans Corner Road was closed for several hours to allow access for emergency personnel and for investigators to safely process the scene. The New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit assisted with the investigation.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says that it "extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Hamill during this difficult time."
