Audition for Spotlight Arts' Summer Mainstage 'Hairspray'

From Spotlight Arts: Join us for our Summer Mainstage production and perform in the popular musical comedy, “HAIRSPRAY" with music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan. Auditions for this large scale commercial production with direction by industry professionals are by appointment only and are open to ages 8-22. Appointments are limited and spaces are filling up quickly. Auditions take place on Friday, April 21st from 4:00-7:00pm and Saturday, April 22nd from 4:00-7:00pm at the Studio Around the Corner, 67 Main Street, Brewster, NY.

What to prepare for your audition: Please bring sheet music for a 32-bar cut of any contemporary musical theatre song of your choice, preferably in the style of the show or a song from the show. An accompanist will be provided at the audition. We will have a short dance call for each auditioning group every 30 minutes so students should wear or bring comfortable clothing and shoes to dance in.

The show rehearses intensively 3 nights per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays) throughout June and July only. Performances take place on July 21, 22 & 23 at Brewster High School.
