Brewster Ambulance Involved in Crash

Officials were on their way to a call when the accident occurred.

Three people refused medical attention after a Brewster Fire Department (BFD) ambulance and a vehicle collided Wednesday at Independence Way and Route 312, according to BFD Chief Bill Rieg. 

The two ambulance-crew members were on their way to an EMS call at Tilly Foster Farm at about 10:30 a.m. The apparatus was T-boned by at the intersection.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the ambulance sustained damage to the driver's side.

"We were fortunate enough to be able to drive it back to headquarters," Rieg said.

State police from the Southeast Barracks responded, as did TransCare.
