Brewster Declares Water Emergency, Limits Water Use

BREWSTER, NY — Limits on water use are in effect in the village of Brewster as a result of the excessive rainfall last week.

Village officials declared a water emergency Friday after finding out the pumps in the well field had clogged. On Monday, they learned that repairs would not be quick.

  • Water lawns and gardens
  • Wash cars
  • Fill swimming pools
  • Run ornamental ponds, pools and fountains that do not have recirculating systems
  • Clean or wash the outside of structures with water or steam
