Brewster Police Spend 82 Hours on Main Street in April

At last week's Village Board of Trustees regular meeting, officials accepted the Brewster Police Department's report for April 2013. Here's what officers did:

  • Issued 86 parking tickets, 181 traffic tickets and four for local ordinances.
  • Inspected 47 taxis.
  • Made six arrests: one assault, one larceny, two suspended license and two suspended registration.
  • Made 337 security visits: 141 to the sewer, 120 to the water tank and 76 to the well field.
  • Spent 187 hours on foot patrol: 82 on Main Street, 89 at the Brewster Train Station and 16 in residential areas.
  • Handled (61) 911 calls—for reports that ranged from a burglary to a brush fire to suspicious persons—and 20 walk-in/pickup complaints.
