Cantando Así Brings a Dazzling Variety of Latin Selections To Wells Park
The event featuring classical guitar and flamenco dance will take place July 30.

From the Village of Brewster:
Brewster NY - Cantando Así will perform vals, bolero, cumbia, pasodoble, danza puertorriqueña, and flamenco. Vocals by acclaimed tenor Ángel Feliciano, flamenco guitar and compositions by Josué Pérez with classical guitar and flamenco dance by Lisa Spraragen. Mark July 30th for a romantic evening with an international flair “al aire libre.” CANTANDO ASÍ was united by their passion for the music of Rafael Hernandez, Puerto Rico’s pre-eminent composer, forming this trio in January of 2013. Lisa and Josué had attended an operatic group recital in Greenwich Village in which Ángel was a featured tenor. They sensed an unusual spark and polish in his performance and had a hunch that he might be interested in trying some pieces with guitar.
This led to an intensive rehearsal period from which a distinct Borinquen repertoire emerged, ranging from bolero and danza puertorriqueña to Schubert. “Cantando Así” (singing like this) is a phrase from the songs of Rafael Hernandez. For this trio, it also means that the music comes directly from the heart.
