John Jay High School Student Spreads Holiday Cheer with 'Golden Gifting' at Waterview Hills

Sydney Tsiropinas, a student at John Jay High Schoolin Cross River, NY, brought the spirit of giving to life this holiday season by creating a “Golden Gifting” Tree for residents at Waterview Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare. The initiative invited community members to select tags representing residents’ holiday wishes, ensuring every individual felt remembered and cherished.

With the help of her mother, who served as the driver, Sydney delivered dozens of beautifully wrapped gifts, each adorned with personalized tags and festive decorations. The thoughtful gesture brought smiles and warmth to residents, many of whom were deeply touched by the effort.

“This was more than just gifts—it was about connection and compassion,” said Alexa Stephens, Activities Director at Waterview Hills. “Sydney’s generosity and creativity truly touched our hearts. The joy on our residents’ faces when they received these gifts was priceless.”

The “Golden Gifting” Tree initiative exemplifies how one student’s vision can inspire a community and make a lasting impact. Sydney’s efforts will be remembered long after the holiday season, serving as a beacon of kindness and youth leadership.
