Mutilated Chickens, Dove Found On Roadway, SPCA Needs Your Help Solving A Mystery
The area where the bag was found in Putnam County was near where other bags of mutilated animals have been found in recent months.

TOWN OF KENT, NY — A grisly find has investigators in Putnam County seeking the public's help getting to the bottom of a string of similar incidents.
On Friday, at 4:34 p.m., the Putnam County SPCA Law Enforcement Division was contacted by the Town of Kent Police Department after a clear garbage bag containing dead birds was discovered on the side of Holland Drive, near Route 52, in Lake Carmel.
At the scene, Putnam County SPCA detectives found two mutilated and decapitated chickens, and one mutilated and decapitated white dove inside the bag.

The area where the bag was found was only a short distance from where other bags of mutilated animals have been found in recent months, according to the law enforcement agency. Detectives believe the carnage may be the result of ritualistic killings.
