NYC DEP Provides Updates On 2 Workers Injured In ATV Rollover
Wooded terrain complicated last week's rescue efforts of the workers, fire officials said.

A second worker, who was a passenger on the ATV, has been released from the hospital and is expected to return to work next week.

The Carmel Fire Department posted on Facebook about the accident and rescue effort.
The fire department and Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the accident scene, off Belden Road near New York City watershed property, around 11 a.m. on Aug. 20.
The two workers suffered serious injuries when the ATV rolled down a steep embankment of about 12 feet, fire officials said. One worker had a severe head injury, while the other was initially trapped beneath the overturned ATV, according to the Facebook post.
The accident happened about a mile off the roadway, so firefighters and emergency medical personnel carried the injured workers out of the woods to awaiting ambulances.
