Obituary: John R. Truran III Of Brewster

John R. Truran III “Jack” of Brewster, New York, passed away peacefully at home Friday July 28, 2023, at the age of 77.

He was born April 10, 1946, in Mt. Kisco, NY, son of the late John R. Jr. and Cora M. (Dann) Truran. He graduated from Brewster High School in 1964 then he received his undergraduate degree from Pace University and master’s from Columbia. He served with the Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.

John then became part of the family business his grandfather started and eventually became one of the owners of the Truran Agency in Brewster, NY. He worked for forty years, retiring in 2017.

John is survived by his brother Stephen Truran of Brewster, NY and his sister Virginia Stone of Patterson, NY.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday August 1, 2023, at the Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Calling hours will take place prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY.
