Linda J. Van Name of Patterson passed away at home on August 24, 2023. She was 81 years old.

Born on February 20, 1942 in Glen Cove, NY daughter of the late Edwin Jr. and Doris (Johnson) Raymaley, Linda graduated from Woodhull High School in Holis, NY. She continued her education to become an LPN at Queens College in Queens, NY.

Linda met the love of her life at the age of 13 during a football game at her future husband's high school while on a date with his best friend. Two years later they met again, this time at a dance at her high school, where they went on that night to win the school dance contest. From then on they were inseparable. On August 12, 1960, she married Barry Allen Van Name in New York City. They enjoyed 61 years together.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved children. She was involved with scouting and PTA when her children were in school. She sponsored a child through the Child Fund International. Linda volunteered at a YMCA in Queens, NY and at the Sunday School Nursery at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, NY. She loved traveling and spent many summers with family on Long Island’s north shore and Ponte Vedra beach in Florida.

Linda was predeceased by her husband Barry, and her daughter Kristin. She is survived by her sons; Christopher K. Van Name of Patterson, NY, Warren A. Van Name and his wife Michelle of Jackson, NJ, and her six grandchildren; Kristin, Alexandra, Kayla, Jessica, Dinah and Tess.
