Obituary: Longtime Brewster Man Dies

Services are slated for Thursday and Friday.

Beecher Funeral Home provided the following information:

Franklin Nanna, a longtime resident of Brewster, formerly of Mt. Vernon, died peacefully at his home on Monday. He was 77.

Franklin was born on Aug. 13, 1935 in Bari, Italy, son of the late Joseph and Marianne (Acito) Nanna. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in the Bronx and had served in the US Army.

Franklin married Antoinette Prisco on June 29, 1958 at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Vernon.

He was a Quality Assurance Specialist for the US Government Department of Defense in Danbury, CT for 25 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster and very involved with Habitat for Humanity in Putnam County.

Besides his wife Antoinette of 54 years, Franklin is survived by two daughters, Catherine Dyab of Queens and Mariann Elgolshani of Danbury; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster. Interment will be private. Visitation will be at the Beecher Funeral Home (on Putnam Avenue in Brewster) from 7 to 9 Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday.
