Obituary: Longtime Brewster Woman Dies

Geraldine M. Galizia, of Brewster, died Tuesday in Carmel at the age of 75.

Mrs. Galizia was born Sept. 8, 1936 in Muro Lucano, Italy daughter of the late Francesco and Felicia (Confuorti) Lamorte. She married Pasquale Galizia in Muro Lucano on Oct. 29, 1955. They moved to the U.S. in 1957 and settled in the Bronx before moving to Brewster 42 years ago.

They became members of . Mr. Galizia predeceased his wife in October 1996.

She is survived by her sons, both of Brewster: Alfonso and his wife Carmela Galizia, and Frank and his wife Dena Galizia; her daughters, Filomena and her husband Danny Ruggiero, of Brewster, and Felicia and her husband John DiLeo, of Patterson; and 11 grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Internment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury, CT. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Beecher Funeral Home (located on Putnam Avenue in Brewster, (845)-279-3615).
