Margaret Mary Fahy (also known as Peggy) of Mahopac, NY, passed away Friday August 25, 2023, in Summit, NJ at the age of 88.

Margaret was born June 1, 1935, in Manhattan, NY, daughter of the late Edward and Esther (O’Brien) McConville. She graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Manhattan then attended Fordham University.

On August 27, 1970, she married Anthony A. Fahy. They moved to Mahopac, NY where they raised their family.

Margaret worked as a Legal Secretary and Paralegal in different law firms in the area, but she most enjoyed being a mother and raising her children.

Margaret was an active parishioner and a devoted religious education instructor at St. John the Evangelist in Mahopac. Along with her faith, Margaret celebrated her Irish heritage through literature, music, and studying the Irish Gaelic language.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Anthony, her daughter Caoilionn Siobhan Fahy, and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Brendan Fahy of Carmel, NY, Bebhinn Alvord of Brewster, NY, Aislinn Nagel of Westfield, NJ; sisters Mary McConville of Brooklyn, NY, Josephine DeSimone of Rumson, NJ and grandchildren Saoirse and Rich, Nuala and Donovan, Logan, Austin, Quinn, Declan and Nolan.

Funeral services will be private. Contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter, 60 E. 42 St. #2240, New York, NY 10165.
