Obituary: Paul A. Scagnelli, Former Brewster Resident

Paul A. Scagnelli of Danbury CT, formerly of Brewster, NY died on Monday July 17, 2023. He
was 83 years old.

Paul was born in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NY on November 16, 1939, to the late Paul and
Armanda (Guidi) Scagnelli. He graduated from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY, and
obtained a degree from Brooklyn City College. He served honorably in The United States Army,
where he met the love of his life, Marie Dolores Simon. He and Marie were married on
September 4, 1965, in Reno, NV.

For 37 years, Paul worked for The Bank Of New York. He was Vice President of Auditing until
his retirement in 2002.

Paul is survived by his wife, Marie; his children, Nichole Horler of Danbury, CT, Danielle (John)
Beirne of Danbury, CT, and Adrienne (Robert) Ricciardi, of Southington, CT; his grandchildren,
Amanda (Lauren), Madeline, Mackenna, Sydney, and Delaney and his great-grandchild, Julien.

Memorial visitation hours will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 12pm to 4pm at Beecher
Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made, in Paul’s name, to The
American Cancer Society, online or at PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

The family would like to share Paul’s life motto. “Be careful” to all of his loved ones, and to
Paul himself in heaven.
