PA Man Who Stole $80K Truck From Carmel Dealership Is Nabbed In Syracuse: Sheriff

After being brought back to Putnam County, the 38-year-old was released on his own recognizance with an ankle monitoring device.

CARMEL, NY — A man accused of stealing a high-end truck from a Hudson Valley dealership was captured in Syracuse after the truck itself was tracked to Pennsylvania, according to authorities.

Acting Putnam County Sheriff Brian Hess says that a 38-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested in connection with the theft of a 2025 Dodge Ram 3500 worth over $80,000 from a car dealership in the Town of Carmel.

On July 7, deputies responded to the dealership after employees discovered the vehicle was missing. Using the truck's LoJack tracking system, investigators were able to locate the stolen vehicle in Levittown, Pennsylvania, where it was recovered by the Bristol Township Police Department.
